FAQs

  • Do you take insurance?
    Yes. I currently accept the following insurance plans: WASHINGTON STATE: Aetna, Ambetter, Cigna, Premera Blue Cross, Quest Behavioral Health, and Regence BlueShield of Washington. MASSACHUSETTS: Aetna, Quest Behavioral Health
  • Do you offer a sliding scale?
    Yes. I reserve a portion of my practice for reduced-rate sessions. Please reach out to talk more about options, I'm committed to making care accessible when I can.
  • How much do sessions cost if I pay out-of-pocket?
    My standard rate for individual therapy is $165 per session.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    I accept credit, debit, HSA/FSA cards, and payments are processed through a secure platform.
  • Do I have to commit to weekly therapy?
    Not at all. Some clients prefer weekly sessions, others find biweekly works best. We’ll talk about what feels right for you and adjust as needed.
  • Can I talk about identity, even if I don’t have the words yet?
    Yes. Whether it’s gender, sexuality, culture, or something else, we can explore it at your pace.
  • Is this space affirming for LGBTQIA+ identities?
    Yes. This is an affirming space where all identities are respected and welcomed. You are welcomed fully, your identity, expression, relationships, and questions.
  • I think I might be neurodivergent… can I talk about that?
    Yes. Diagnosis is not a requirement for exploring how your brain works and how to support your needs. Therapy can be a space for curiosity, self-understanding, and building strategies that actually work for you, no label needed.
  • What if my identity is still evolving?
    Identity is allowed to grow and shift. You don’t need to have certainty to deserve support.
  • Can I talk about intersecting identities (e.g., disability, race, sexuality)?
    Yes. Your full identity is welcome here. We can explore the complexity and strength of your lived experience.
  • What if I don’t know where to start?
    That’s totally okay. We’ll begin with whatever is present for you, even if it’s just a sense that something isn’t right.
  • What if I cry or get emotional?
    That’s welcome here. Emotions are part of healing, and you’ll be met with care, not judgment.
  • Can you diagnose me? Will you?
    I can offer a diagnosis if it’s needed for treatment planning or insurance reimbursement, but we don’t have to pathologize your experience to work together.
  • Do you offer in-person sessions?
    I only offer online therapy for people living in Washington State.
  • Can I say if something’s not working in therapy?
    Yes, please do. Therapy works best when it’s collaborative. If something feels off or needs to shift, we can talk about it honestly.
  • Can I talk about sex in therapy?
    Yes. This is a judgment-free space for exploring sexuality, pleasure, shame, trauma, or curiosity. You’re welcome to bring your full self, questions, fears, and all, without needing to filter or explain it away.
  • Can I talk about kink, non-monogamy, or things that feel taboo?
    Yes. This is a shame-free space. Your relationships and desires are respected here. You don’t have to justify what you need or who you love. This is a place to explore openly, without fear of being judged.
  • Can I talk about my relationship with my body?
    Yes. Whether it's body image, illness, or disconnection, your experience is welcome. We can explore how these challenges impact your daily life and gently work toward a more compassionate relationship with your body.
  • Can we talk about changes in orientation or sexual identity?
    Yes. Identity is fluid, and you’re allowed to explore, question, and shift. Therapy can offer a supportive space to reflect on who you are, who you’ve been, and who you’re becoming, at your own pace.
  • Can I talk about religion or spirituality in relation to sex and relationships?
    Yes. We can talk about how faith and upbringing shape your relationship with intimacy and self. These influences can run deep, and therapy offers space to untangle them with care, curiosity, and without judgment.
  • What do therapists have to report?
    I’m legally required to break confidentiality only if there’s immediate danger… such as risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else, or concerns of abuse to a child or vulnerable adult.
  • Will you tell me if you need to report something?
    Yes. I will only act without telling you in urgent or imminent situations where safety is at risk—otherwise, I’ll communicate with you before any steps are taken.
  • Will my sessions be confidential?
    Yes. What you share in therapy stays between us, except in situations of serious safety risk.
  • Is online therapy secure?
    Yes. I use a HIPAA-compliant platform to keep our sessions private and your information safe. Your confidentiality matters, and I take intentional measures to protect your privacy.
  • Will my insurance company see my session content?
    Only basic info like dates and diagnoses for billing purposes… not your private session details.
